Shrine of Ponte Beluso
The shrine of A Ponte Beluso, also known as the shrine of the Dolores or of the Angustia, is a very simple edification dated at the end of the 18th century or at the beginnings of the 19th. In 1983, as a consequence of the built of the road Riveira-Santiago, it had to be moved stone by stone from its original location to interior lands, although it still occupied the borders of the same river it was since the beginning. The building outstands for its simplicity, although there are ornamental elements of some relevance as it is the image of the Virgin placed in the niche of the façade, the bulrush where there are found the bells, or the relieves that are flanking the portico. These relieves represent the souls of the purgatory burning in the Purifying Fire and one Mater Dolorosa who holds the body of his died son on her lap.
