Megalithic culture in Santa Uxía de Riveira
Dolmen of Axeitos Menhir of Bretal Petroglyph Pedra das Cabras
Riveira preserves many megalithic remains. Among them it is worth to remark the dolmen of Axeitos, from the 3rd millennium BC, which is considered to be the summit of Galician megalithic work and is one of the most visited monument of our Community. Belonging to the same pre-historic period, we also find in the Council a menhir in Bretal and another one in Sirves, both in Olveira parish. Moreover, there is a carved stone called Pedra das Crabas and found in Figueirido, in the parish of Palmeira. The access to this carved stone is a bit difficult.
