Fountains, of Rianxo
The abundance of water in Riaxo influences in the quantity of public fountains, some of them from 200 years ago. Forty-four were catalogued and they are especially valuable for their stonework, the way the basins are, or for the presence of the traditional “pousadeiras” (used to place the containers were the water was get in). Maybe the most interesting one is the fountain of the Alameda (in the Village of Rianxo), with a polygon basin, a central high thick square part, three jets, and a square crown with moulding ends.
