Roman remains in Puebla del Caramiñal
The Roman presence has been proved by the discovery of coins and vases of the period, recorded in 1756 in ‘Historia y Armas de Villa’, by the notary Miguel Joseph Soldado y Romero. The way Per Loca Maritima crossed the county of Barbanza, from Boiro to Porto do Son, and some of its branches extended towards A Pobra:
