The Miranda´s House -Restaurant A Casa dos Miranda
The House of the Miranda family is placed in the Rúa de Abaixo Street, in Rianxo. This house is one of the few examples of the gothic architecture in Galicia. The house was built in the 14th century and a late-gothic façade has been preserved, with its cornices and original coat of arms.
The Shields of the House of the Miranda are the oldest in Rianxo, they date of final of the XIV Century. They correspond to the stock of the Prouddest Nobility. They have the lion and the castles of the Enríquez, the waves of the Mariño, the Xaquelado of the Soutomaior, the Fernández's lion rampante and the checkered of the Bermúdez and Abraldes. The saddest side is that of the Marshal's unfortunate daughter Sueiro Gómez, Mr. of Lantaño, of Sobrán and of Rianxo, Mrs. María Mendoza, dead at the hands of its husband Don Enrique Enríquez of Guzmán, son of the Admiral of Castilla and relative of the King. Shields be perhaps was made in times of these two persons.
