Shrine of Virxen do Monte
(Approximately 500 m far from the monumental complex of O Castelo)
According to the inscription we can read on the façade, “MANDO HAZER ESTA CAPILLA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DO MONTE GRIGO // RÍO PERES DE AGEITOS Y SU MUGER ANTONIA DE LOURENÇAN: AÑO 1677”, the shrine was biult under the promotion of a married couple in 1677.
The building has a square ground plan covered by a barrel vault. The most remarkable is the façade, following the model of a classical triumphal arch.
In the wall, the doorway is reinforced with a discharge arch. Flanking the doorway there are two small pilasters and above them a semicircular arch. Moreover, there are also a second group of fluted pilasters placed over podiums and linked to the semicircular arch by an ashlar row.
