Santa Uxía de Riveira
The parish church of Riveira, under the patronage of Santa Uxía, was built in 1899 in a neoclassical style, preserving the ancient Romanesque church’s blocks of stone. Showing a very sober architectural style, the church has three naves covered by a barrel vault; we can gain access to the vault through a balustrade with stairs built by El Portugués. On the inside, the church contains different sculptures, a chalice and a Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) of great value. The church is very well integrated in the Compostela Square, which apart from having a remarkable monument, it also has beautiful gardens.
