San Salvador de Comoxo
San Salvador de Comoxo was built in the 12th century under the influence of the rural Romanesque. The church was erected to join the numerous parishioners of Comoxo, integrated then by the Posmarcos archbishopry. In the first decade of the 17th century a plague practicaly razed the whole place and in Comoxo the priest and almost all the parishioners died. The only survivors were 8 people, so the church was tranformed in a shrine for serving the reduce number of parishioners, now appointed to the Santa Baia de Boiro sanctuary.
From the original temple, it is preserved an outstanding capital, roughly carved in granite that nowadays is used as a lectern for the Bible. The experts say that it has an enormous archaeological value because it could be dated in the Visigothic or Pre-romanesque period. The patron saint, San Salvador, is represented in one niche of the façade, the one where the vestry is placed.
