San Ramón de Bealo
The parish church of Abanqueiro presents the singularity of having two saint patrons, San Cristóbal and the Virgen del Carmen. Both images are placed in the niche of the façade. The original Romanesque temple was built in the last years of the 12th century and the first ones of the 13th century. According to the inscription of the façade, the temple was reformed and widened in 1708 taking his baroque stamp.
Between the Romanesque elements the temple still preserves, there should be mentioned the grooves of the eaves, the columns of the portico and the coat of arms of one of the exterior walls. Inside, they stand out the choir and two pointed arches and the front of a gothic altar that is built in one of the walls and it reproduces the image of the virgin flanked by San Juan and Santiago. Besides from this two angels carry candles that light the scene.
