San Andrés de Cures
The parish temple of Cures, devoted to San Andrés (located in the niche of the façade) is the result of many reforms made all along history. The primitive church was erected and consecrated in the Romanesque period, style which can be still seen in the gable end, to be precise in one of the jambs and in an almost disappeared half point arch. Inside, there are preserved two Romanesque fonts that were found in the back garden of the rectory together with a stone lioness that from its stand protects the enclosure of the garden.
Near the temple there are at the end the graveyard with a cross in the façade that comes from a 17th century stone cross. The tower bell, according to the inscription of the lintel, was built in 1745. More recently, in 1955, the foundations of the temple were opened and some tombs were discovered. They were covered with mud and they probably come from the suevos time.
