Chan de Iroite funeral stones of the "Chan de Iroite"
In the parishes of Lampón and Cures is where the biggest concentration of Megalithic monuments is placed, between them the biggest Galician burial mount, the Arca da Barbanza. This concentration of archaeological heritage is extended all along 15 km of a plain territory called Chan de Iroite. This is a sort of sacred city or funeral acropolis formed by different kinds of funeral stones as ‘mámoas’, ’cistas’ or ‘dolmens’.
The main elements of this ‘Celtic Olympus’, as Murguía called it, are the ‘mamoas’ Casota do Páramo and Armadoiro (both of the in A Graña, Cures), the ‘cista’ Pedra da Xesta (also in A Graña), the Cavadas Primeira and Segunda (in Cures),"mamoa" of Outeiriño Redondo, the dolmen Casarota do Fusiño (in Outeiro do Curro, Lampón) and the Arca da Barbanza, the biggest funeral stone of these characteristics of Galicia, placed in the very geographical centre of A Barbanza:
